Pixeluvo is a fantastic, light weight, image editing program. The interface is clean, staying out of your way while you work. If only it had a few more tools (custom brushes and channels) it would be my first choice for photo retouching and painting.
Plasticity is a NURBS based 3D modeling software. You create either curves or solid shapes, which you then modify to build finished objects.
PureRef is a picture viewer that lets you stack reference images and arrange them, keeping them always handy as reference for your drawing and modeling.
Graphite is a procedural software for doing 2D artwork. Currently available on-line but soon to be released as a desk top software.
Lightworks is my preferred video editing software.
Publii is an open source software for creating static web sites. Like a word processor, Publii lets you add text, images, and other content, then creates all the codes and files required to deploy your own web site.
