About Independent Image

My name is Kurt Fillmore and this is my little corner of the internet. Why Independent Image? For years I had hopes of breaking into the movie industry, maybe as a screenwriter, maybe a director. Those dreams never materialized, but I remain hopeful.

Independent Image is the name of the production company I envisioned.

I was born in the Central Valley of California in 1960. I spent time in the U.S. Navy, gaining the rank of Enlisted Man Fourth Class (E4). Got honorably discharged in 1985 and have spent time bopping from job to job without ever finding my niche. Economic upheavals happening every six to ten years didn't help.

Currently I'm working as a Technical Manager at a Family Entertainment Center where I fix games, rides, computers, some electrical and plumbing.

I reside with my Wife in Northern California, writing short stories part time and hoping to turn writing into my full time career. If I can muster up the fortitude to create a novel, that would be amazing.
