Aquarium of the Pacific
My wife and I have been travelling again. This time we went to Southern California for a visit with her son Marcus, who defended his PhD thesis at University of California, Riverside. His presentation was successful - congratulations to Doctor Marcus Asaro!
Afterwords the four of us, myself, Gloria, Marcus, and his girlfriend Alyssa, ventured towards the coast and went to the Aquarium of the Pacific, in Long Beach, CA.

The aquarium is a beautiful, modern building, recently expanded. It has multiple tanks with a variety of fish species from different regions of the world including the tropics, the coastal waters off Long Beach, and even some deep water fish that have adapted to life on the man made structures of ocean oil rigs.

We loved the different tanks. Some were filled with Jellyfish, their soft gauzy bodies pulsing as they swam. Others had smaller fish, vibrant with color.

Other displays had Seals and Sea Lions, that could be observed from above or below the waterline. All you had to do was climb a flight of stairs to enjoy their play.

From the most delicate of sea horses ---

-- to enormous Giant Sea Bass --

-- the aquarium has so much to offer.

So if you're in the Long Beach area of California and enjoy museums, aquariums, etc. I can highly recommend the Aquarium of the Pacific.
